So far I've reviewed mostly Japanese whisky distilled in Japan. The exception has been Nikka From the Barrel, but even that contains excellent Ben Nevis distillate. Now it is time for the cautionary tale. This is fake Japanese whisky and probably the most egregious of them all.

Don’t let them fool you though: like most of these unknown names, the Kurayoshi range consists of blended malts, made with Scotch whiskies (!) shipped over to Japan, where they are blended with small portions of local whisky.
