The 4.2–4.4 Å reflection peak in the soils has increased intensity compared to that of fresh and weathered andesite rocks, suggesting that the content of clay minerals is increased by weathering (Figure 5 and Figure 6). Volcanic soils tend to have the greatest P-sorption of all soils since volcanic soils contain large amounts of amorphous material.
